Annual Branch Conference 2009

The 2009 conference was hosted by the Sunshine Coast Regional Council and held at Twin Waters Resort, Mudjimba Beach, Sunshine Coast from 24-27 May 2009.  Despite some disruption by the swine flu, delegates agreed it was an excellent conference.

Disaster Management for Public Health - Cairns: 23-28 August 2009

Participant feedback from the 2009 Disaster Management Course indicated that it was another very successful week. 

Contemporary Food Safety Training Course - Monday 22 to Wednesday 24 February 2010 - Brisbane Hilton

As a result of surveys undertaken at previous Food Safety Training Courses, the course was run over 2.5 days and maximum numbers will apply.  The course was held at the Brisbane Hilton, 190 Elizabeth Street, Brisbane in Meeting Room 83 (Level 8).  The final program is attachedl;

Environmental Health Risk Management Workshop - Thursday 28-Friday 29 January 2010 - QUT

The purpose of this workshop was to update and inform environmental health practitioners on - (1) the basic procedures for assessing risk for a variety of environmental health issues; and (2) the appropriate use of regulatory tools for the management of environmental health risks.  The workshop consisted of a series of presentations and scenario-based activities.  Topics covered are outlined in Workshop Overview.

Noise Management Courses

Facilitator, Frank Henry B.App.Sc (Environ Hlth) has 20 years practical experience in noise and pollution management in local government including noise complaint investigation, planning assessment and policy development. The Noise Management Course held in conjunction with the Annual Conference on the Gold Coast -Thursday and Friday 27 & 28 May 2010, was fully subscribed and great feedback was received from those who attended.
